Furniture photography is a product photography.

A few days ago, we got an opportuniy to captur teak wood furniture in Yogyakarta (link here). Photographing furniture is product photography. I have a subjective definition about product photography. Product photography is a genre of photography that effort to capturing the works, it can be a goods or a service that produce by a factory. It’s interesting because the factory and the product is a dualism. So capturing the product is also capture the value of the factory or the owner of the product.

We are fortuned, can see the bautiful crafting from the teak wood. A table set, and a bar chair. I think this product is beaautiful from the material the product made, and the design.

I had intense interesting in this product. Yeah, because this product which is made from teak wood is has high quality wood. As we known, teak wood (Tectona Grandis) is the exotic wood from asia, especially south east asia. Teak plant can grow in a hard land. It has hard charateristic. This wood is legend in Java Island old time history. Teak have been used for so many building in Java Island. The famous one is Demak Mosque. Teak wood is hard very hard however, uniquely teak wood is easy to be formed. That makes teak wod is favourite to be a interior furniture.

When we look to this design, we can see that this design combine roundness design in the table with the rectangular design in a chair. The roundness design will remind us to the german design genre, especially to the Dietr Rams. I think, I can see the simplicity in this table design, and of course a modern touch. And the chair, we can see too, this chair design is focus on rectangular shape. This chair form is suits in outdoor scene.

I think, this furniture has a graet craftmanship. It has soft edges, beautiful material and color. It’s fun we can get this one. We we use it, we can feel the nature closer.[]
